AKHWAT AKWOP STATEMENT

Hot on the heels of the 14 day ultimatum given Boko Haram by  the Ijaw Militant Youth, another group the Akhwat Akwop Militia has issued a statement fresh from the bakery of "enough is enough". Gradually rolling down this road to anarchy, its said of the wise "a stitch in time save nine".
There'll be lots more to come if our Dear President continues to pedal these threats with one foot, he can confirm from Mubarak, or Gaddafi, none of them had it easy.

End the madness you have started or we will be forced to permanently end it for you. A word is enough for the wise.

11. Akhwat Akwop states here that should President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan not want to continue as President in 2015, the presidency must and should remain in the Old Eastern Region of Nigeria.

THE ABSU RAPE CASE/TAPE

"truth is more often lost in the mist of conflicting truths"

Rape is an age old system of mental and physiological torture used as a most inhumane method to physically abuse another human being, which of cos translates and is understood as a crime and punishable under law.

The unsatisfactory method of investigation of the police once again came into the lime lite with the case of a gang rape sex tape circulating the internet, which originated from the ABSU (Abia State University) and claimed by many as to show students of the Abia State University raping an alleged undergraduate female student. This inhumane treatment mete out to this helpless female was brought to the front burner, as unfortunately for the rapists they thought it was a good idea to record the whole event.

The truth of this matter will only be told through the lips of this young lady who remains anonymous as of the moment. Giving the circumstances and exposure of the case one would expect the girl in question to have surfaced and clear the air around the events that happened on that very faithful day.
Thanks to the private sleuthing of well meaning Nigerians who unearthed names from social networking sites of names being mentioned in by the 10 minute video clip while the girl was being raped. Kudos to others who through personal means made sure appropriate authorities show interest in the case.

To speak of the shameful way the Abia State Government wanted to wave aside this terrible injustice aside is bad enough a mention, as the statements issued denying and even threatening to sue news corporations and newspapers who continued to publish articles about the case, remain baffling as to how the Abia State Goverment came to such conclusion with out proper investigation.
Reports as of today the 25th September 2011 as released by the police officially state that three persons have been picked up for questioning in connection with the gang rape case as efforts to track the other two and the whereabouts of the girl are underway.

The enthusiasm of initial interests appropriated the case has already begun to dwindle as more conflicting stories surface, but irrespective of what the truth might be trimmed to eventually, this surely has been an eye opener to some, to others, a discovery of ways not to do things and to the general public, the need for applicable laws to curb and protect victims of rape.

A WIKILEAKS APPROACH

"Ambitious as a lie might try to be, its never half as sweet as a bitter truth"

The exposé of Government secrets to the general public by popular demand has increased curiosity about the  credibility of wikileaks as an appropriate or trustworthy source of information. Over time, wikileaks has been able to prove without a doubt, the fraudulent dealings and sometimes sinister motives of interactions between high placed representatives of countries and even dealings within the Government of any country with adequate, juicy and in the nick of time information which suits just perfectly.

Its indeed a nice picture being painted by wikileaks, as its ability to share and disclose private conversations, Government cables via embassies, e-mails of highly placed officials and war documents to mention a few. As far as the public is concerned the whistle-blower information made available by wikileaks is usually taken with a pinch of salt, as where to draw the line between truth, absolute truth and collaboration of facts to suit a purpose. Its an issue of separating the wheat from the chaff, though claims by wikileaks insist the information has been refined for public consumption.

As wikileaks continue to release diplomatic cables containing information gathered through intelligence reports, documents and word of mouth concerning Nigeria and its Goverment Officials, it leaves little to the imagination of what already is known in some circles. Though denial trail most of the reports, its also a known fact that to trace the source of a fire, one can easily follow the smoke.
