"no matter the size of the pot, once it can hold water, its only a matter of time for the fire underneath to have it boiling"
Its the third day of protests all around Nigeria and its easy to see the growing concern of Nigerians as more and more people join in the protest as the insensitive body language of the government only makes the situation even worse.
In several states across the country, soon people took advantage of the crowd to perpetuate crimes under the guise of protesting. The most hit state today being Niger state where a speech by governor Babangida Aliyu incited irate youths to go looting, burning and wanton destruction of government and private property. This action immediately prompted the state government to further lock-down the state by imposing a complete curfew on the state.
The ongoing talks between government and the labour unions once again arrived at a deadlock, as both sides could not come to a compromise. Despite a later recommendation by the senate who have also asked Jonathan to revert to the original price of #65 Naira per liter pump price of pms, as other prominet Nigerians also request the same of him, so as to forestall further destruction and unnecessary hardship and killings across the country.
Nigerian residents in the diaspora haven't been left out in the struggle as they've found ways to express their heartfelt solidarity and support to protesters back home through the Nigerian high commission in countries such as Ghana UK and USA. In the same wave a group of persons were arrested in Ghana for attempted transportation of arms and ammunition into the country.
CIA predictions of a possible breakup of the country before the year 2015 is gradually coming into focus as the ripple effect of the fuel subsidy removal has opened the eyes of blind Nigerians as to how much suffering and poverty there is, while the government grows fat without a care in the world as clearly reflected in the proposed 2012 budget summary.
The ease with which these events have been able to intertwine and continue to pick up other issues snowballing into the raging momentum of protests is a time bomb awaiting one wrong move to blow up in everyone's face, of which both sides will feel the pains as we all are Nigerians at the end of the day.
At this point its now fair to say that the political advantaged enjoyed by the PDP has finally lost the faith and trust of Nigerians nationwide. Its also safe to say that the PDP presidential monopoly has also come to an end, and the stodgy tenure of Jonathan has been successfully rubbished by the powers that be. Who carefully dug the pits and played tunes for him to dance to through ill timed and bad advice. Without any calculation, the confident and blatant failures of the Jonathan administration points to the PDPs loss of the presidency come 2015, and also an indication to the South South/ and Eastern states who should forget about the presidency for another 16 years running
